I’d like to share with you the story of how Flavia began. While Flavia is now a division of the MARS company–yes the same MARS that produced the wonderful candy bars so many of us grew up on–Flavia started the single cup coffee system in 1982. This wonderful ideal was first introduced to Baningstoke in the UK over 30 years ago. Being owned by MARS, Flavia has always followed the MARS standards. From the United Kingdom, Flavia has grown to the U.S., Canada, and Japan, as well as other countries. Interestingly, people that serve in the military have taken their own machines with them to many other countries where they are stationed. I also know they are on board many of the Navy and Coast Guard vessels on the waters protecting us today.
It is a fact that Flavia is the first company to put the single cup serving of coffee on the market, which, since then, a multitude of companies have tried to reproduce. Some have made a name for themselves, while others were forced to change the design.
Flavia is the only patented single cup coffee brewing system that others haven’t been able to reproduce. One reason is the single cup coffee brewer and the amount of technology that goes into these machines. Flavia has created many different machines since the conception of the single cup coffee system. When you open one of these machines, you might think that you were looking inside of piece of NASA equipment. They have multiple mother boards and a complex array of wires and pieces.
Well, I can only sit back and wait to see what new marvels Flavia has in store for us. By the way, I just finished my cup of STEEL HORSE COFFEE and I’m ready for the day. You should get one too.
